Overview

Birkbeck is a world-class research and teaching institution, a vibrant centre of academic excellence and London’s only specialist provider of evening higher education. The Times Higher Education World University rankings place Birkbeck in the top 1% of universities in the world.

Birkbeck provides an inspirational teaching and learning experience with some of the world’s leading academics. It has consistently ranked number one in London for teaching and student satisfaction in the National Student Surveys.

18,000 students from around the world study with Birkbeck every year on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across the arts and humanities, sciences, social sciences, law and business. Birkbeck gives them the opportunity to achieve their ambitions by building their careers during the day, and studying in the evening alongside highly motivated students, many of whom have real-life professional skills and backgrounds.

Undergraduate students can study at a pace that suits them, and complete in 3, 4 or 6 years – all by evening study.
