Chalmers has approximately 3,000 master students, 30% of them come from countries other than Sweden. Chalmers is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world on many of QS subject specific ranking lists; Chemical Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science.

Accommodation

  • Chalmers has agreements with different housing agencies that provide guaranteed accommodation to fee-paying students. Applications for student housing have to be submitted online, directly to the housing agencies, during specific time periods for different categories of students.

  1. Master's students paying tuition fees
  • Chalmers guarantees accommodation for international students who pay tuition fees. If you have been awarded a scholarship, either from Chalmers or from the Swedish Institute, you count as a fee-paying student as well. The accommodation guarantee is valid between 14 April and 18 May 2015. After you have accepted your offer of admission, further information about how to apply for accommodation will be sent to you by email from the Chalmers Student Centre.If you have questions, send an email to the Chalmers Student Centre at student.centre@chalmers.se

2. Student housing agencies contracted by Chalmers

  • You will find description of accommodation, location and prices on the website of the specific agency. All administration - i.e. contracts, keys, payments - are handled by the housing agencies, not by Chalmers. Questions regarding accommodation should be addressed to the housing agencies directly.

  • Chalmers Studentbostäder: Offers accommodation either nearby Chalmers campus Johanneberg or close to Chalmers campus Lindholmen (info@chalmersstudentbostader.se). Chalmers Studentbostäder
  • Boplats Göteborg: Boplats is the main portal for rental housing in Gothenburg, where international students may search for private rooms and sublet apartments. During the summer, staff from Boplats Göteborg will provide support and assist students without housing guarantee in their search for a room. The Boplats coordinators will be available between 8 June and 11 September 2015 (room@boplats.se or info@boplats.se).
