Overview

Founded in 1961, ELISAVA was the first design school to open in Spain and the first to offer a design specific curriculum.

As a pioneer ELISAVA role has been instrumental in shaping the culture of design in Catalonia and in Spain.

Through a successful blend of academic rigour along with open-mindedness and innovation, ELISAVA has long been an open forum for all those who have something new, intelligent and thoughtful to say regarding the creative industries.

ELISAVA is located in a modern 11,000m2 facility with multi purpose classrooms and engineering, photography and computer labs as well as a model and fashion workshop and a reference library with over 9,000 design related volumes.

ELISAVA benefits from an enviable, historic city centre location, a few steps from Barcelona's port and the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, the emblematic Rambla street and the Gothic Quarter.

A wide educational offer in Design, Engineering, Communication, Strategy, Management and Architecture thought covering Official Degrees, Master’s degrees and Postgraduate diplomas and Summer Courses.
Degrees and Master's and Postgraduate programmes, transcripts and ECTS credits are awarded by the prestigious Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona who is an affiliate of ELISAVA.

Expenses

Among large European cities, Barcelona is not one of the most expensive, but you will need to have enough resources to participate in an exchange programme. By way of example, we have provided a list of basic expenses:

Housing: 350-450 Euro

Food:400-500 Euro

Transport: 50 Euro

Materials: 250 Euro

Miscellaneous: 150 Euro

Total: 1.200 - 1.300 Euro/Month

Accommodation

In order to facilitate accommodation for non-local and international students, ELISAVA has agreements with different residence halls andaccommodation services that offer special conditions for its students.
